The ZR-10 is the reader version of our popular ZT-50 active tag and is a low power (1 mW) reader module designed for embedded applications (to be plugged into another circuit board). The ZR-10 contains a UART compatible TTL-level data interface for easy integration with any serial data device (microcontrollers, Bluetooth modules, Arduino boards, other computers, etc.) The ZR-10 communicates via the industry standard protocol IEEE 802.15.4. The operating frequency of 2.45 GHz enables this reader to have a range of 100 feet (~30 meters) with a compact integrated antenna. The antenna also has a very good nearly omniidirectional radiation pattern, so it can pick up signals from many orientations without loss in gain. This reader is designed for use with our ZT-50 and ZT-500 active tags. |
Active Readers
All Active Readers are designed to work with all TagSense ZT Tags. The readers operate under the same API and have the same functionality. All readers provide serial communication, either through USB, RS-232, Telnet or Raw TCP/IP data
Software for our Active Readers are available when you purchase an evaluation kit, available through our Online Store.

The ZR-100 is a small but powerful embedded reader with open-air ranges of over 1mi. It is designed for embedded applications (to be plugged into another circuit board), and contains both a UART-compatible TTL-level data interface as well as a higher-voltage RS-232 serial interface for easy integration (USB not used). The ZR-100 communicates via the industry standard protocol IEEE 802.15.4. The operating frequency of 2.45 GHz enables this reader to have an excellent range of >1mi with an external antenna (not included). This reader is designed for use with our ZT-50 and ZT-500 active tags. |

The ZR-USB is designed for desktop applications. The USB interface provides both power and data, making the device plug and play compatible. The ZR-USB is a versatile longrange active tag reader that communicates via the industry standard protocol IEEE 802.15.4. The operating frequency of 2.45 GHz enables this reader to have a long communication range range of over 1 mile (~1.6 km) in open air.
The ZR-USB Reader is designed to communicate with the TagSense ZT-50 and ZT-500 active RFID Tags. |
